The machine that lands on your counter has been through more than assembly. It has been calibrated against a reference recipe, run through a cleaning cycle, inspected at three separate checkpoints, and packed by hand. That process is not incidental to what the 360 is \u2014 it is part of why it pours the way it does on the first try.
Calibration before everything
Every Barsys 360 is calibrated on the line before it ships. Calibration means running a measured quantity of water through each station and verifying that what comes out matches what was instructed, to a tenth of an ounce. A unit that falls outside tolerance is adjusted and re-run. A unit that cannot be brought within tolerance does not ship.
This sounds obvious but it is not common. Most appliances are tested for basic function \u2014 does the pump run, does the button respond. The 360 is tested for accuracy, because accuracy is the product. A cocktail machine that pours imprecisely is not a cocktail machine. It is a beverage dispenser, and we did not build a beverage dispenser.

Assembly under inspection
The ring body, the canister housing, and the pumping system are assembled in stages with an inspection point between each. The inspection is visual and functional: is the seal seated correctly, is the tube path clear, does the outlet align to within the tolerances the calibration step will verify. The three-checkpoint model exists because catching a misaligned part before the canister housing closes is far less expensive than catching it after.
The cleaning cycle before the box
Before a 360 is packed, it runs a cleaning cycle. This serves two purposes: it verifies that the cleaning function works correctly, and it ensures that the unit arrives to you ready to fill immediately. There is no residue from manufacturing, no test fluid, nothing that needs to be cleared before you can load your own spirits. You unbox, fill, and pour. That sequence matters to us.
The box itself
The packaging is designed to be opened once and not kept. The 360 does not benefit from being re-boxed \u2014 the canisters are insulated and the machine is robust enough to sit exposed on a counter. The unboxing experience is therefore minimal by intent: the machine, the funnel, the cable, the manual. Nothing decorative that competes with the object. The box is designed to disappear, because the 360 is designed to stay.
